What is a Claim?
Claims are the resource used to prospect for buried gold during an expedition. The official description presents each Claim as another opportunity to search down to bedrock. Claims are not the same thing as guaranteed gold: they create an attempt, not a result.
What tools do you need?
The basic prospecting setup described by the official FAQ is a Prospector’s Pass, Claims and a pickaxe. The Pass permits prospecting for a period of time, Claims provide attempts, and the pickaxe lets you dig through the frozen earth. Tools and other supplies can be found, traded for or purchased in the Game Lobby and frontier settlements.
What does the Skill Check do?
After a find, the game tests timing and dexterity. The official FAQ describes three outcomes: a failed Skill Check can return nothing, an average result can return part of the find, and a perfect result can return all of it. Treat this as an execution mechanic—not a promise of a fixed return per Claim.
Do not confuse value with profit
The game’s real-value layer has eligibility, payment and withdrawal rules. This site does not make earnings claims. Read the official terms before any paid activity, and remember that Early Access systems can change.
Why extraction is part of the system
Gold Grains are not secure simply because they appeared during an expedition. The FAQ says you must extract your Pioneer to return to the Game Lobby, where the balance can be withdrawn or stored. That is why route planning, health, energy and enemy avoidance belong in a gold guide.
