Every item must justify its weight.

Equipment connects survival, prospecting and extraction. This guide starts with the publicly confirmed tools, then leaves room for exact item records from the live build.

Short answer: a basic expedition needs a usable weapon, a gathering tool and enough pack room to bring useful finds home. Prospecting specifically requires a Prospector’s Pass, Claims and access to a pickaxe.

What equipment is publicly confirmed?

Item or resourceConfirmed purposeKnown acquisition
PickaxeBreak frozen earth and reach bedrock for prospecting.Find one or trade for one in mining camps and Trading Posts.
Found weaponsEquip weapons recovered during play and use them to survive. The Tutorial demonstrates finding and equipping them; full locations are not published.
GreenbacksCurrency used to buy gear and special items during an expedition.Managed through the game economy; exact prices change with the live build.
Prospector’s PassAllows eligible players to enter the optional prospecting system for a set period.Available through the Game Lobby.
ClaimsProvide prospecting attempts; they are not guaranteed gold.Game Lobby, some camps or Trading Posts, and certain quests according to the FAQ.

Passes and Claims are access resources

They belong in the equipment plan, but they are not ordinary combat gear. Keep their real-money and eligibility rules separate from item-stat comparisons.

How should you pack?

CombatOne reliable option

Choose around the Pioneer’s published ranged or melee bonuses and the route’s enemy pressure.

WorkOne primary tool

Carry the tool that serves the expedition’s main job instead of packing for every resource.

RecoveryKeep a safety margin

Leave enough capacity for health, energy and the return journey.

ExtractionReserve loot space

Encumbrance spent before departure cannot carry a valuable find home.

What do we know about durability?

Official update summaries have referenced more visible tool durability, confirming that wear is relevant to equipment planning. The public pages still do not provide a complete durability table, repair formula or per-item cost. Until the current build is captured, this Wiki will explain the risk without publishing unsupported numbers.

What should be captured next?

  • Exact item name and category
  • Inventory icon and current-build tooltip
  • Weight or Encumbrance cost
  • Durability, condition and repair method
  • Trading price in Greenbacks
  • Known source: found, traded, quest reward or Pioneer-bound
